Lilac, the pit bull mix who came to the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray, has been at the shelter the longest of the current canines there, and could really use a home of her own, according to Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding.
She is 3-4 years old, spayed, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated. She loves hanging out in the dog shelter office, playing with stuffed animals, and snoozing the day away.
She loves to go for walks and does great on a leash, and she loves to lay in the sun.
Lilac would do best as the only dog in the home as she does not want to share her humans with any canine friends, Harding said.
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed. L
The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
