Linda K. Taft, 73, of Jerry City passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.
Linda was born on December 23, 1948 in Fostoria, Ohio to the late Gerald and Juanita (Miller) Smith. She married the love of her life Harvey Taft on May 6, 1968 and he preceded her in death on February 12, 2021. Linda is survived by her loving children: Juanita L. (Jamie) Alfaro; sons, Harvey D. Taft Jr, Gerald Jerry (Emily) Taft, and Jeffery (Cathy) Taft; grandchildren: Anthony (Crystal) and Johnathon (Brittney) Taft, Carter Taft, Liley (Dylan) Taft, Marshal Taft and James (Jillian) and Linda (Jeffory) Alfaro; her great-grandchildren: Corey and Ivy Taft; siblings: Beth (Karl) Joseph, Mary (Jay) Jimison, Jill (Arthur) Wills and Eric Hartz; her beloved pets: Powder, Blackie, Smokie, Pumpkin and Percy. She was preceded in death by her brother David Hartz and her step-mother Viola Smith.
Linda worked at the Clazel Theater and Portage Drive Inn, as well as Capital Plastics (Lear Corp) where she developed lifelong friendships, where she graciously got the nickname Big Bird. She was a life member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #2118 in Findlay where she served as a District and State officer. Linda enjoyed camping and most of all, spending time with her family. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and truly cherished the time she was able to spend with them.
Visitation for Linda will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of her Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 pm in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster Street, Bowling Green, OH. Interment will immediately follow at Jerry City Cemetery.
