Luminaries to light up New Rochester on December 24

For the 44th year, the residents of New Rochester, Ohio and members of St. Paul Lutheran Church invite the public to visit their community on Christmas Eve (Tuesday, December 24, 2024) to enjoy their 500 Luminaries. The Luminaries is a Spanish / Mexican Christmas tradition of lighting the way for the Christ Child. The Luminaries will be set out along the two roads coming into the community, as well as in front of St. Paul Lutheran Church. As in past years, the Luminaries will be set out by over 20 volunteers from the town of New Rochester and St. Paul’s Church starting around 1:00 in the afternoon with the candles burning until after midnight. New Rochester is located about 5 miles east of Bowling Green off Route 6. The Luminaries can be seen glowing from Route 6 while looking north at Route 199.
