Macy Tschappat, beloved husband, father & friend died at St. Luke’s Hospital early Wednesday morning, October 31, 2018.
Macy was born in Toledo, OH, but spent most of his time in Portage & Custar, OH. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time outdoors. The woods and the river were his homes away from home. If not hunting or fishing, he could be found sitting on the porch with his tried & true animal companion, Hunter. When he did stay inside, he enjoyed playing Yahtzee & Euchre with his family. He loved classic rock music and would play “Who sings it?” with anyone who would play along.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Teresa Sleighton; brothers-in-law, Jeff Rashley & Lowell Barbee.
Macy is survived by his wife, Beth; daughter, Hannah; brother Terry (Eunice) Tschappat; sisters Kim (Doug) Woods and Kelly (Ray) Gravelle; Brothers-in-law Tom (Bonnie) Rashley & Kevin (Bonnie) Rashley; Sisters-in-law, Helen Rashley, Susan Barbee, & Debra (Peter) Villalovos.
Through his dedicated 30+ years with the Public Works Division of the City of Bowling Green, Macy spent a lot of his time rebuilding, by hand, the wall surrounding the city park in Bowling Green. He also enjoyed tending to and mowing the various parks around BG.
Macy was a loving husband and father who was always laughing, smiling, and joking. His smile was contagious and his laugh brought so much joy.
