Man arrested for living in empty BG home for a month

A Toledo man was arrested for criminal trespassing after it was discovered that he was living in an uninhabited house in Bowling Green.

Bowling Green Police Division was called Monday morning about a man entering a home in the 900 block of North Main Street that is unoccupied and should not have anyone inside. The house is currently in probate court.

Police officers found a front window unsecured and entered the home. The officers announced their presence many times as they searched the house.

Myron Darnell Bester, 41, was reportedly found hiding in a second floor closet. He told police that he had been living in the home for about a month, after having a falling out with a female and becoming homeless.

Bester reportedly told police he did not know who owned the house and did not have permission to be there. He told police he hid because he thought they were the homeowner.

Bester was taken to the Wood County jail.
