Man convicted after threatening hospital with ‘AK-47 style’ violence

A former local man has been convicted of making threats against Wood County Hospital.

William Henry Nolan Jr., 58, formerly of Weston, was found guilty of making “terroristic threats” against the hospital, according to Bowling Green Police Chief Tony Hetrick.

Nolan was reportedly unhappy with a treatment his wife received at Wood County Hospital. The hospital got a protection order against the man after he repeatedly sent threats that he would “take care of the problem in a violent manner,” Hetrick said.

Nolan reportedly threatened to take care of the issue “AK-47 style.”

According to Hetrick, Nolan also sent letters to other area hospitals. Those letters reportedly made threatening statements about Wood County Hospital, some specific doctors and hospital staff, the police chief and some local elected officials.

Nolan, who had moved to Oklahoma, was brought back to Bowling Green for trial, Hetrick said.
