Mary A. Forrester, 87, of Weston Ohio, passed away peacefully September 21, 2016 in Bowling Green, Ohio, at Bowling Green Manor after suffering complications from her second broken hip. She was born on May 6, 1929, to Murr and Ethel Canfield in Perrysburg, Ohio. She graduated from Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Ohio, in 1947. Mary attended Flower Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated in 1950.
She worked as a nurse on the maternity ward at Flower Hospital, and then as a nurse at Bowling Green State University. Her calm compassion and caring manner made her a successful nurse. She married Robert B. Clements of Bellevue, Ohio, in 1950, and they raised four children, Robert W. Clements, Donald B. Clements, Charles D. Clements, and Debra L. Davis, and three stepchildren, Conrad and Michael Forrester, and Teri Lisinski She had nine grandchildren, Mathew, Jennifer, Megan, Robert, Jeromy, Douglas, Alisha, Bridget, and Catherine, and four great grandchildren. She will always be remembered as the world’s best mother and grandmother. In 1977 she married Edward L. Forrester and worked in real estate. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Canfield, and her husband of 39 years, Eddie Forrester.
Mary enjoyed reading and gardening and living in the country. She was very interested in local history and became involved in Friends of the Park’s effort to preserve parks on the Maumee River.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Weston United Methodist Church, 377 North Avenue Weston, Ohio on Saturday October 1, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Dunn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or Weston Public Library.
