Mary Ann Keenan of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away December 28, 2021 at the Grand Rapids Care Center. Born March 12, 1934 in the town of Ida, Michigan, she was 87.
Mary worked many jobs over the years including telephone operator for AT&T, Mud Hens concessions worker/manager, server at Gladieux catering, miscellaneous worker/manager jobs in concessions, and finally ending up at St. Luke’s Hospital in their cafeteria department for sixteen years. Her hobbies included writing, cooking and baking. She entered the Pillsbury Bake Off numerous times and boasted that her boss at St. Luke’s actually won the Bake-Off at one time. But her most long-lasting love was sports. She was a diehard Detroit Tigers’ baseball lover as well as a loyal University of Michigan football fan.
She married Robert Keenan April 7, 1956. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2011. Surviving family include children, Beth Manahan and Mark Keenan, grandchildren, Joel (Bree) Manahan, Ian Manahan, Colleen Manahan, Dana (Geoff) Kremer, Chris (Ashley) Tipping, Jeremiah (Vicky) Tipping, Alyssa Tipping, Makenna Keenan and Rae Lynn Keenan, great grandchildren, Carson, Jordan, Nova, Matthew, Landon, and Zuri, and siblings, Chuck Guass, Bill Guass and Helen Busz. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, daughter, Diana Tipping and sister, Donna Straub.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd., Waterville, OH. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 22 N Second Street, Waterville, OH. Memorial contributions can be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
