Mary Louise Reimer, 91, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away February 17, 2023. She was born October 14, 1931 to the late Clarence and Clara (Neiling) Foos. She married Dennis Reimer on April 28, 1956 and he preceded her in death December 21, 2013.
Mary Lou was a 1949 graduate of Bowling Green High School. She graduated from the Mercy School of Nursing as an RN. She was a member of the Mercy Alumni Association and worked as a registered nurse for Mercy Hospital. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bowling Green and St. Louis Catholic Church in Custar where she was part of the Altar Rosary Societies. Mary Lou was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Meyers Post 305 in Custar. She enjoyed playing piano and spent time volunteering for the American Red Cross.
Mary Lou was a woman of faith. She made sure the family was at church every weekend, and there were no excuses. There were prayers before meals, and every evening the family was on their knees for prayers or reciting the rosary.
She valued the importance of education. Reading to her children, and homework was top priority. She expected all her children to go to college, which they did. She was a hard-working farmer’s wife. There were always farm chores, planting and weeding the large garden, canning and freezing fruits and vegetables in addition to raising her 10 children.
She is survived by her children Dennis Reimer of Voorhees, New Jersey, John (Pam) Reimer of Whitehouse, Ohio, Joseph (Lisa) Reimer of Holland, Ohio, Paul (Kelly) Reimer of Perrysburg, Ohio, Rex (Nicki) Reimer of Weston, Ohio, Kathryn (Mark) Bollin of Perrysburg, Ohio, Rosanne Kerr of Cygnet, Ohio, Colleen (Kevin) Weidner of Troy, Ohio, and Regina Reimer of Tampa, Florida, sister Jane Horner of Columbus, Ohio, brother Thomas Foos of Bowling Green, Ohio, 24 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Clara, husband Dennis, daughter Rita Reimer, grandson Logan Kerr, great-grandson Hudson Frost and siblings Marie Fleitz, Hilda Durliat, Helen Foos, Margaret Feltes, Donna Jean Bochenek, Robert Foos, Ray Foos, Howard Foos and James Foos.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday February 25, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, 22792 Defiance Pike Custar, Ohio 43511. Father Walter Tuscano will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
