Modern Woodmen of America members in Bowling Green recently helped raise money for Sara Headley with a special fundraising event at Hope Lutheran Church on March 10.

The event, which included a free will donation soup and salad luncheon, continues to bring in donations which will exceed $7,500. This includes $2,500 matched by Modern Woodmen through the organization’s Matching Fund Program.

The funds will be used to help cover medical bills and expenses as Sara continues to recover and unable to work. Donations may still be made via check payable to Sara Headley and mailed to Hagemeyer Fine Photography at 13226 County Home Road, Bowling Green, OH 43402.

The Matching Fund Program offers Modern Woodmen members nationwide the chance to show their support for a community cause, organization or individual in need through fundraisers. These fundraising projects contribute more than $10 million to community needs across the country each year.

The Hope Lutheran Church in Bowling Green holds a free will donation charity soup and salad luncheon on the second Sunday of every month to raise money to support many local needs.

“The community truly came together to support a local need,” says DJ & Amy Deiter, local Modern Woodmen volunteer leaders. “That support is what it’s all about.”

Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, the fraternal financial services organization’s Summit chapters, chapters and youth service clubs provide opportunities for members to take part in social and educational activities and volunteer projects to meet local needs.
