Mom and daughter, 11, arrested for allegedly shoplifting

A Toledo woman and her 11-year-old daughter were arrested Sunday night after reportedly shoplifting multiple carts of items from the WalMart in Bowling Green.

Two other people who were in the vehicle used are still missing after a chase by police.

Maleasa Jordan, 41, was charged with obstructing official business and endangering children. Jordan’s daughter, age 11, was charged with theft.

Bowling Green Police Division responded to Walmart for a report of shoplifting at 10:23 p.m. Police saw the suspects leaving the area and tried to stop the vehicle. However, the driver failed to stop, and a pursuit began, Lt. Dan Mancuso said.

The vehicle traveled east on U.S. 6, then north on Interstate 75. The driver exited at Wooster Street, and headed out of the city on Bowling Green Road East. The vehicle ended up on Linwood Road.

When Linwood Road dead-ended near the Wood County Park District’s archery range, the people in the vehicle bailed, Mancuso said.

Two were located by police, but two others have not been found. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office and the K-9 unit from Perrysburg Township Police Department assisted in the search.

The case in still under investigation, Mancuso said.
