Montessori School of BG appoints Jennifer Dorrell as new head of school

From MONTESSORI SCHOOL OF BOWLING GREEN

The board of directors of the Montessori School of Bowling Green is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Dorrell as head of school, effective July 1.

Dorrell has served as interim head of school during a period of transition for the school. In that role, she has provided steady leadership and demonstrated a strong commitment to the MSBG’s mission, students, families, faculty, and staff.

To guide the selection process, the board established a search committee that included representation from the board, the parent community, and the faculty. Following that process, Dorrell was identified as the finalist, and the board subsequently approved her appointment as head of school.

In her role as head of school, Dorrell will report directly to the board of directors and will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operation of the school. She will continue to work in partnership with faculty, staff, parents, and the board to support educational excellence, organizational strength, and the long-term success of MSBG.

“Jennifer has led the school with thoughtfulness, professionalism, and deep care for the community,” said Steve Conlin, president of the board of directors. “The search process confirmed what many in our community have already experienced firsthand – Jennifer is a capable and respected leader, and the board is confident in her ability to guide MSBG into its next chapter.”

Dorrell’s responsibilities as head of school include overseeing school operations, supporting faculty and staff, partnering with the board on strategic priorities, and helping advance the mission of the MSBG as a nurturing community that educates the whole child in a Montessori environment.

The MSBG remains committed to fostering mutual respect, personal responsibility, and a passion for learning in every student.
