More closures planned on West Wooster Street and Haskins Road as water/sewer project continues

Utility upgrades on West Wooster Street are completed.

Work continues to progress on the West Wooster/Haskins Road water and sewer improvement project. As a result of this work, beginning Tuesday, July 25, West Wooster will be closed between Winfield Drive and Eberly Avenue. Haskins Road will not be accessible from West Wooster Street during this closure. In addition, Haskins Road will be closed between Parker Avenue and West Wooster Street.

Progress has been slow in this area due to thick bedrock near the surface. The contractor has completed 100% of the waterline upgrades and 90% of the sewer line replacement portion of this project.

As work continues to progress, intermittent lane restrictions and closures along West Wooster Street and Haskins Road can be expected and restrictions at intersections will be necessary.

Beginning the week of July 31, motorists should expect rolling closures (of about two-hour durations) of intersections between Eberly Avenue and Church Street as the temporary, intermediate course of asphalt is applied to the road.

Upon completion of the water and sewer project, a separate contractor will complete a full-width milling and paving project along West Wooster Street and Haskins Road.

This schedule is dependent upon weather and progress of work.
