Museum hosts Tea & Talk Series about ‘Underwear Etiquette’

From WOOD COUNTY MUSEUM

The Wood County Museum’s May Tea & Talk series is titled “Underwear Etiquette.”

Alex Hutchings, assistant events coordinator at the museum, will present the talk at 2 p.m. on May 18 at the museum, 13660 County Home Road, Bowling Green.

She will discuss how literature was rampant with guidelines on how to conduct oneself. Underwear was often a central subject of the genre of literature. Guests will hear about the social protocols of hidden clothing such as a glimpse of an ankle, naked shoulders and an untied cravat.

The museum is partnering with The Summer Kitchen.  The featured tea selection is “Cucumber Lemon Refresher,” a refreshing herbal tea featuring cucumber and bright lemon flavor with subtle apple notes and hints of spicy ginger.

Admission includes tea and light refreshments by local caterer Carpe Diem out of Pemberville, Ohio, and the program. Member pricing is $25, while non-member and special diet meals (gluten-free or vegan) are $30. All ticket sales are final.  Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Reservations and payment are required by Sunday, May 14. The museum offers two methods for payment: call 419-352-0967 and museum staff will assist or visit woodcountyhistory.org to pay online.

This program is part of the 2023 Tea & Talk series hosted by the Wood County Museum. A complete list of teas and other programs can be found at woodcountyhistory.org
