Nancy White Lee

Nancy White Lee, age 84, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2023, at the Toledo Hospital.

She was born on July 3, 1938, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Russell William & Laura Louse (Zerbe) White. Nancy married Briant Hamor Lee Sr., on April 21, 1962, in South Bend.

Surviving Nancy is her daughter, Guinevere Lee (Gerald Francis) Cassidy; son, Briant Hamor (Tammy Lynn) Lee II; grandson, Briant Hamor Lee III.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell & Laura; and loving husband of 60 years, Briant Sr.

On September 5, 1967, Nancy earned a bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University School of Music, was a Phi Mu Sorority Alumni from Indiana University, and was Honored as an Outstanding Young Woman of America in 1973. On June 8, 1974, she earned a master’s degree of music from Bowling Green State University, College of Music, and in May 1978, she received the World Who’s Who of Women Distinguished Achievement Award.

From 1995-96 Nancy was on the Chair of Classified Staff Counsel at BGSU, and retired in 2002 from BGSU after 30 years from the Classified Staff at Jerome Library, Music Library. Mrs. Lee was an accomplished musician playing the piano, organ, cello, violin, harp, bagpipes, and recorder.

Nancy was a member of several Masonic Fraternities including Order of the Eastern Star, Amaranth, Daughters of the Nile, Royal Order of Jesterettes, Highland Lassies, Zenobia Shrine Hillbillies, and Rainbow Girls. Among many hobbies, she enjoyed machine knitting and embroidery, quilting, and ceramics. She always maintained an interest in cooking and finding new recipes to the amazement of guests.

A Celebration of Life Service to honor both Nancy and her husband, Briant Sr. will be held on June 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Zenobia Shrine Temple (8048 Broadstone Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551).
