Newest county prosecutor’s office staff member – of the canine kind – to be introduced on Friday

Norene in front of Wood County Courthouse

Wood County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Dobson announced today that he will hold a press conference on Friday, June 14, at 9 a.m., in the atrium of the Wood County Courthouse to introduce the office’s newest staff member.

Norene will be the first courthouse facility dog ever used in Wood County and one of the first in Northwest Ohio. Norene is a 2-year-old labrador retriever who has been specifically trained to work with crime victims both in the office and the courtroom.

In addition to Norene and the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office staff, Norene’s trainer and staff from the Ability Center of Greater Toledo will be on hand for the conference. Additionally, Norene will be deputized at that time by the Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn.
