Nola Rood Wohn Shiets, 83, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Wednesday February 1, 2017. She was born September 12, 1933 in Bowling Green, Ohio to Lloyd and Gertrude (Garno) Rood. She married Jacob Wohn and he preceded her in death. She then married Leo C. Shiets on February 14, 1970 and he survives in Bowling Green.
Nola enjoyed cooking, crafting and shopping. She loved vacationing with her family at her cottages by the water and taking the boat out. She also enjoyed traveling and vacationing. Nola had a special place in her heart for her dog, Molly. Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Along with her husband Leo, Nola is survived by her children Larry Wohn of Michigan, Diane Starr of Portage, Ohio, Timothy Wohn of Toledo, Ohio, Jamie (Jane) Wohn of Temperance, Michigan and Daniel (Terri) Wohn of Toledo, Ohio, brothers Jim Rood of Bowling Green and Stanley Rood of Florida, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 step-children. She was preceded in death by her first husband Jacob Wohn, son Ricky Wohn, brothers Norm Rood, Robert Rood and Don Rood and sister Gennalle Torok.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday February 6, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. Father Mark Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to Bridge Hospice, 1069 Klotz Road in Bowling Green.
