Nominations sought for Community and Civic Engagement Awards

(Submitted by Center for Community and Civic Engagement)

The Center for Community and Civic Engagement is pleased to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the annual Community and Civic Engagement Awards. The goal of the awards is to provide recognition to individuals and groups committed to community-based learning (a.k.a. service-learning), community-based research, and community and civic engagement.

We know there are many great community engagement projects/programs taking place that BGSU staff are involved with that are deserving of recognition.  We encourage you to submit nominations for the Outstanding Partnership Award (Program or Project) and the Staff Excellence Award to recognize deserving individuals and organizations.

Who is eligible: Students, faculty, groups, staff & community partners who have participated in or supported community-based learning (a.k.a. service-learning), community-based research, and community and civic engagement projects during the Summer of 2016, Fall of 2016, or Spring of 2017.

Who can nominate: All members of the BGSU community and community partners/agencies.  Self-nominations are also encouraged and accepted.

How to nominate:  Visit www.bgsu.edu/CCCEAwards to review criteria and submit a nomination.

Deadlines: All nominations are due March 15th.

This year, award recipients will be honored at three separate venues. Students will be recognized during the Applauding Excellence awards ceremony April 27th. Community partners will be recognized in the fall during the Expand Your Horizons Experiential Learning Fair. Faculty and staff will be recognized during a reception that will also take place at the beginning of the fall semester. We hope that this new format will allow nominees and recipients to receive even greater recognition from their peers and colleagues.
