The Pemberville Free Fair will bring summer fun to all ages this Wednesday through Saturday. This year marks the 75th anniversary of this small town event.

Pemberville’s first fair was held in 1935 with Ted Bowlus as chairman and held for a few years until it was discontinued. In 1948, the Fair was started up again by the American Legion, Civic Club, and Fire Department. Since then, the fair has remained a unique part of Pemberville and a memorable experience for countless families.

This year’s special event will commence on Wednesday, at 6 p.m., with the 2019 Opening Ceremony followed by the Kiddie Parade.

This year’s fair will close with a special luminary lit closing ceremony with the current Fair Board passing the 75th ceremonial flag onto eight youth that have been selected to carry the flag across Pemberville’s candlelit School Valley.

These same youth have being charged with planning something special in 25 years for Pemberville’s 100th Free Fair.
