The Friends of the Pemberville Public Library are hosting the 25th Holiday Home tour on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 7 p.m.

The tickets are $10 each.

Featured on this year’s tour are the homes of Gary and Cathy Harrison, Gary and Karen Korn, David and Jane Rodriguez, and Ella Werth.

Refreshments will be served at the Pemberville Public Library during the tour.

This is a self-guided tour of the four homes. The tickets may be purchased at the library, or can be purchased at the homes on the day of the tour.

A decorated tree raffle will be held, with tickets for $1 each or six for $5. Trees decorated in children’s book themes will be raffled off along with the corresponding book. Tickets are available at the library. Winners will be drawn on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.

The funds raised by the annual tours have supported the library’s summer reading programs, STEM packet activities, and many other programs.

Following is a description of the homes on this year’s tour.

Gary & Cathy Harrison

11100 Wayne Road, Wayne

Welcome to the Harrison Home, which was built in 2002 for Gary and Cathy, and their eight children. As you drive up the driveway toward the house, it becomes clear this is going to be something special. Once you enter the home, your senses quickly become filled with excitement and anticipation of what’s around the corner. Cathy’s sense of decorating is one she shares with everyone at the Country Farm House gift shop and restaurant in Wayne. Come and enjoy the sights and smells of the holidays. We hope you enjoy the tour, and from our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Gary & Karen Korn

148 Elm St., Pemberville

Welcome to the Korn Home at the end of Elm Street. We purchased this house in 1989 after living 11 years in West Toledo. Karen was raised south of town, and Gary was raised in Pennsylvania. We feel blessed to be in this community. An array of Christmas memories from grandparents, parents, siblings, and friends fill our home. Karen’s love of decorating and Gary’s love of the outdoors will greet you. So glad you came! Enjoy the tour, and we wish you and yours Happy Holidays!

David & Jane Rodriguez

8065 Devils Hole Road, Bowling Green

We welcome you to our home this Christmas season, where you will enjoy the country and primitive decorations. This is our fourth time being on the Holiday Home Tour, and we are very happy to say it is for a good cause to help the Pemberville Library. An interesting fact: each time we have hosted, we have had a different home to showcase. This year, our theme is “Farmhouse Christmas.” We have always loved decorating for the seasons! We hope you enjoy the tour, and we wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Ella Werth

Otterbein Pemberville SeniorLife

914 Sunflower Court, Pemberville

Six years ago, my husband and I moved to Otterbein Portage Valley. I truly enjoy living here, especially during the Christmas holidays; with all the decorations, lights, and the great programs. Of course, nothing compares to family get-togethers and wonderful food. One thing I extremely enjoy is letting my great-grandchildren (all 10 of them) help decorate my Christmas trees. Yes, I said “trees,” plural! The one I particularly like, I call my “Edible Christmas Tree;”  everything on it is edible: the gingerbread cookies, the gumdrop garland, and the candy canes.

The Friends of the Pemberville Public Library feel blessed to have people say “Yes” to opening their homes all these years . We hope to continue the tradition in the future, and if you or someone you know would like to volunteer, please contact the library.
