Tyler Miller, 16, has been indicted by the Wood County Grand Jury on the charge of aggravated murder in the Nov. 29 death of Amonie Ervin, 19, according to Wood County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Dobson.

Miller, of Perrysburg, was bound over by the Wood County Juvenile Court to be prosecuted as an adult after he, through counsel, waived his right to a hearing on the matter.

Miller’s case has been assigned to Wood County Common Pleas Judge Alan Mayberry. He will be arraigned on Dec. 20.

Miller is currently being housed in the Wood County Justice Center, based on concerns prosecutors had raised as to his being a potential threat to others in the juvenile detention center. By law, Miller is separated from any adults in the jail.

In the state of Ohio, aggravated murder is an unclassified felony which subjects the offender upon conviction to life without the possibility of parole or life with the possibility of parole after 20, 25 or 30 years.
