Pinwheels will be posted to represent child abuse cases

Pinwheels posted for child abuse cases in Wood County.

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. Staff of Wood County Children Services will hold their annual Pinwheel for Prevention events on Wednesday, April 11. The day begins at
10 a.m. with the planting of 873 pinwheels at Thayer Ford/Nissan, 18039 Dixie Highway, Bowling Green. The 873 pinwheels represent the number of investigations completed and families assisted in 2017.

Following the pinwheel planting, a luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Wood County Courthouse Atrium, One Courthouse Square, Bowling Green. Food and beverages, along with basket raffles will be available.

In addition, area school districts will participate in the second annual “Pinwheels on the Road” project. Area schools will have displays on campus with the number of pinwheels displayed indicating the number of families in the district assisted by Wood County Children Services.
