Polar Pop machine overheats – prompting call to fire division

Bowling Green east side fire station

Bowling Green Fire Division was called to Circle K Monday morning for a Polar Pop machine that overheated.

Fire Chief Bill Moorman said an employee of the Circle K, at the corner of North Prospect and East Wooster streets, called at 7:54 a.m. after noticing flames under the Polar Pop machine. The employee was able to put out the fire with an extinguisher.

The store was closed due to extinguisher dust throughout the building, but customers were still able to buy gas if they paid at the pumps.

Firefighters were able to identify the source of the fire as an overheated compressor under the Polar Pop machine.
