Power back in BG after widespread outage caused by truck

Power is back on in Bowling Green, after a semi-truck ran over a guy wire around 2:35 p.m. today. The wire let loose and struck an insulator, according to Joe Fawcett, assistant municipal administrator.

Power was restored around 3:10 p.m.

The outage was widespread, hitting the downtown area, plus large portions of the southern part of the city.

During the outage, the county’s 911 system was also out of service. When such outages occur, people are advised to call 419-354-9001 for emergencies.
