Public input sought on region’s long range transportation plan

Interstate 75 in Wood County

Millions of dollars come to Northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan through various federal transportation programs. The Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG) is inviting the public to review the updates to the region’s long range transportation plan: “On the Move: 2045 Transportation Plan – update 2020.”

The TMACOG meeting in Bowling Green will be Feb. 11, from noon to 2 p.m., at the Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St.

TMACOG is charged with maintaining the long range transportation plan for Lucas and Wood counties in Ohio and southern Monroe County, Michigan. The plan is being updated for 2020 and the public is asked to provide input as users of the transportation system. The best plans serve everyone – commuters, bicyclists, freight haulers, and people who use public transit. TMACOG needs to hear from a wide range of users to build a system that works for us all.

All meetings are free and no registration is required. Meetings will include displays and maps of the existing and planned systems as well as a review of the current plan.

Everyone, even those who can’t attend a meeting, is invited to fill out a survey at http://www.tmacog.org/onthemove/.
