Public invited to hear updates on regional sewage treatment

The public is invited to learn about updates to regional sewers and sewage treatment at a public meeting for Lucas and Wood counties on March 6, from 2-4 p.m., at the Northwestern Water and Sewer District, 12560 Middleton Pike, Bowling Green.

The agenda includes a brief overview of the Areawide Water Quality Plan and updates to the individual facility planning areas in each county. The topics covered will include new sewers, upgrades to treatment plants, package plants, and other capital improvements needed in the future.

The Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG) manages the regional plan for four counties in northwestern Ohio and for southern Monroe County, Michigan.

This plan is the region’s agreement to manage sewage treatment through cooperative planning. The plan is updated frequently to reflect changes in development and investment.
