Rally BG on Main, hosted by the City of Bowling Green and Bowling Green State University, will return to downtown Saturday, Aug. 27, from noon to 9 p.m.
This is the second year the welcoming party for BGSU students will be presented. The rally is the brainchild of Mayor Mike Aspacher and BGSU President Rodney Rogers.
In a statement released by the BGSU Office of Marketing and Brand Strategy, Aspacher said: “I’m thrilled that the Rally BG event is returning for its second year! We could not have imagined the tremendous response from the community during last year’s inaugural event. This event provides an opportunity for all of our community members to join together in a relaxed and fun environment, fostering true community spirit, inclusion, and pride!”
Main Street will be closed to traffic. In its place will be a zip line, Ninja Warrior Course, Double Jump Freefall Inflatable and more.
Attendees will be able to:
• Listen to stories presented by the Wood County District Public Library
• Watch a bike rodeo
• Meet Frieda and Freddy Falcon
• Check out a fire engine and police cruiser
• Make personalized street signs
• Patronize local shops and restaurants
• Partake in DORA beverages on the go
• Eat at the eight food trucks on site
• Compete on 3-on-3 basketball tournament
A pep rally with the mayor and BGSU president will be held at 5:45 p.m.
