Raymond Parsons

Raymond Earl Parsons, a dedicated family man and respected member of the community, passed away at the age of 92 on November 17, 2024, at his residence in Bowling Green, Ohio. Born in Weston, Ohio, on September 12, 1932, to the late Ralph and Loretta (Welch) Parsons, Raymond was a proud Army veteran who served from 1953 to 1955.

Raymond will be dearly missed by his daughter Kathy Bowley, his grandchildren Matthew and Bryon Bowley, Dustin and Christopher Parsons, and Stacey Tabor and as well as his great-grandchildren Owen and Jackson. He was a loving husband to his late wife Joyce for 66 years and now joins her in eternal peace, along with his son Chip and his sister Mary.

A man of many talents, Raymond worked for Luttrell Auto Supply and later served as a Deputy for the Wood County Sheriff Department. His dedication to the community extended to owning and operating Parsons Sports Shop, where he supplied the Boy Scouts with essentials for their uniforms. An avid hunter and fisherman, Raymond was known for his passion for the outdoors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor may be gifted to The Wood County Relay for Life.

To honor Raymond’s life and legacy, a Celebration of Life will be held on November 25, 2024, at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, beginning with a Memorial Gathering at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 12:00 pm.
