Richard B. Bigelow, 86, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Wednesday May 11, 2016. He was born September 17, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to Bernard and Bethel (Hadding) Bigelow. He married Joan Heltman on April 27, 1957 and she survives in Bowling Green. Dick proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He served during the Korean War and participated in the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir. He was a member of the Marine Corp Association and a longtime member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan, son David (Aurora) Bigelow of Waipahu, Hawaii, nephew Brent (Karen) Bigelow, niece Brenda (Robert) Schubert and 4 special great-nieces Courtney, Mallory, Grayson and Payton. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Bigelow and sister Patricia Hiner. Visitation will be held on Saturday May 14, 2016 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. A private graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green. Memorial contributions may be given in Dick’s memory to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
