Richard C. Murphy, 90, of Bowling Green, passed away on April 8, 2017. He was born on November 26, 1926 in Burgoon, Ohio to Ray and Mary (Howey) Murphy. He married Karis Tauker on June 17, 1951 and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2013.
Mr. Murphy worked as an office manager for American Metalcraft in Waterville. He had also worked at the BGSU Book Store. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BA degree in 1950. Mr. Murphy served in the U.S. Navy during World War 2 as a radio man. He was a life member and past Exalted Ruler of the Maumee-Bowling Green Elks Lodge. His favorite past time was caring for his roses.
Surviving are one son, Douglas J. (Willie) Murphy of Weston. His parents and wife preceded in death.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Dunn Funeral Home located in Bowling Green’s Historical District at 408 W. Wooster St. The family will receive freinds from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery, Grand Rapids with Military Services conducted by the Wood County Honor Detail.
