Richard Allen Otley, Sr., 94, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Friday July 5, 2019. He was born May 17, 1925 in Bowling Green, Ohio to M. Benjamin and Esther (Kramp) Otley. He married Donna (Chamberlain) Otley on December 7, 1946 and she survives in Bowling Green.
Dick served his country in the United States Marines in the 6th Marine Division. He was a Purple Heart recipient while proudly serving in World War II. He worked for Walt Siders’ Construction followed by self-employment for many years. He was a member of the Tontogany American Legion and enjoyed golfing and bowling. He hand crafted beautiful wooden carvings, his favorite being his special “love spoons” for his “sweeties.”
Along with his wife of nearly 73 years, Donna, he is survived by his sons Richard Allen Jr. (Nancy) of Bowling Green, Ohio and Thomas Lee (Terry) of Bowling Green, Ohio and his daughter Jill Pixley (Cash) of Fostoria, Ohio, 9 grandchildren,9 great-grandchildren and his beloved fur baby, Kiki. He was preceded in death by his son Jack Jay and brother Dale Franklin.
Services for Dick will be private for the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
