Ricky Jay Evans, age 65, of Bowling Green, OH passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Wood County Hospital. He was born on August 11, 1953 in Toledo, OH to Robert R. & Ardeth E. (Phillips) Evans. Ricky was a 1973 graduate of Eastwood High School. He retired from Wood Lane Industries after 46 ½ years, having worked in various position which included; sorting, machine operator and cashier just to name a few. Known for being a gentleman and a scholar, he spent much of his time at the “Grounds for Thought” book store, as he was a vivacious reader. He was a hat collector and an avid sports fan especially of the Detroit Tigers. Amongst his greatest joy was spending time with family, especially with his “Grandma Midge” before her passing.
Ricky is survived by his twin brother: Robin R. Evans of Custar, sisters: Laurel Sue Martin of Pemberville, Brooke Caperton of Luckey, nieces: Dawn Scott, Tanya Beard, Misty Rosenbaum, nephew: Steven Bowers and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved grandmother Midge Burgess, brothers: Philip Scott and Kim Scott.
Family and friends will be received 3-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2018. There will be an additional time of visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey, OH. A luncheon will be served in the fellowship hall at Faith United Methodist Church, 111 Main Street, Luckey, immediately following services at the funeral home.
