Robert L Ernsthausen

Robert L. Ernsthausen, 69, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Wednesday January 4, 2017. He was born April 27, 1947 in Bowling Green to Richard and Ruth (Thompson) Ernsthausen. He married Sharon Motot on November 15, 1968 and she survives him in Bowling Green.

Bob served his country proudly in the United States Army. He and Sharon lived in Germany and Vietnam while he served in the Vietnam War and then they moved to Fort Bliss, Texas before returning to Bowling Green. Bob received a National Defense Service Medal, Drive Badge with bar, Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, Expert Rifle and a Good Conduct Medal.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Bowling Green, United States Trotting Association, Wood County Harness Horsemen and the Ohio Harness Horsemen Association.

Along with his wife of 48 years, Sharon, Bob is survived by his son Ryan Ernsthausen (Carrie Ward) of Portage, Ohio, daughter Shelly (Ray) Kozina of Maumee, Ohio and four grandchildren Carter and Mason Ernsthausen, Mckenzie Biddle and Zeth Sabo.

Visitation will be held on Monday January 9, 2017 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. A Celebration of Life Service will begin on Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Meg Knape will officiate. Interment will follow at Wood County Memory Gardens where the Wood County Honor Detail will render military honors.
