Robert Stearns Dickey, 89, of Weston Ohio passed away Friday April 1, 2016 at his home. He was born on May 25, 1926 to Charles and Olive (Stearns) Dickey in Weston. On February 14, 1947 he married Bonna VanVorce at the Tontogany Evangelical Church. Robert was a life long farmer in Weston. Robert and Bonna were the owners of B & D Pizza in Weston for several years. He was a World War Two veteran serving in the US Navy. Robert was a member of the Weston Ohio American Legion Post #409, the Wood County Amateur Radio Club and was a skilled woodworker. He was proud that he earned his machinist journeyman card. He retired from Adjusto/Bio-Fit in Haskins. After retirement they were ‘Snowbirds’ traveling to Haines City, Florida during the winter months. During the summers he enjoyed gardening, watching baseball and spending time with his grandchildren as they grew. Robert is survived by his wife of 69 years Bonna, his son Dan L. Dickey of Haines City, FL, his Daughter Robyn S. (Norm) Maynard of Weston, his grandchildren Amber (Brett) Bankey, Brad (Tracy) Sheeks, and Mandy (Matt) Sheeks. His great-grandchildren Nicholas and Dylan Bankey and Noah Sheeks. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Thomas Dickey, and sister Betty Wendt. Robert’s family will be having a gathering in his memory at a later date.
