Robert Thomas Getz, Jr., 61, of Bowling Green, finally found peace on Saturday, December 28, 2019.
Tom was born April 17, 1958 to Bob and Becky (Leady) Getz, in Bowling Green, Ohio. He was a 1977 graduate of Eastwood High School where he excelled in sports, especially football, baseball, basketball, and track. He earned four Varsity letters in high school sports, and received scholarship offers from 10 different colleges, two of which were Big 10 schools. However, he chose to stay at home to farm and to help raise his family. Tom also enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and time with his family.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, and his grandparents: Fred and Catherine Getz, and Vaine and Dorothy Leady.
He is survived by his mom, Becky, and three sons: Rob, Curtis, and Daniel; two daughters: Angie (Ryan) Miesmer and Catherine Getz; three grandchildren: Kellan, Logan, and Addison Miesmer; five sisters: Teri (Kim) Long, Tami (Kevin) Oberdick, Tanya (Mike) Brown, Tina (Carl) Kale, and Trisha Getz; one brother, Tim (Kim) Getz; nine nieces and nephews, and ten great-nieces and nephews. Tom left behind a large list of extended family.
The good times spent with Tom shall be remembered and cherished. Tom’s final resting place will be at Sargent’s Cemetery in Liberty Township, where there will be a private graveside service. Details are being handled by Marsh& Marsteller Funeral Home, Pemberville, Ohio. www.Marshfuneralhomes.com.
