Robert W. “Bob” Kolva, 72, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Tuesday March 6, 2018. He was born October 26, 1945 in Woodbury, New Jersey to the late George Y. Kolva Sr. and Florence (Bregler) Kolva. He married Mickey Kolva May 3, 1980 and she survives in Bowling Green.
Bob worked as a mechanical engineer for Owens-Illinois for 28 years and owned and operated Kolva Custom Gauge for 12 years. There is nothing Bob enjoyed more than a day on the golf course. He was a member of Forest Creason Golf Course at BGSU for many years. He enjoyed bowling, tending to his yard and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies Fan. His greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family and friends. Bob’s genuine ability to welcome people into his heart and home was second to none.
Along with his wife of nearly 38 years Mickey, Bob is survived by his children Bob Jr. (Melissa) Kolva of Prospect Park, Pennsylvania, Kim (Chris) Diezel of Mebane, North Carolina, Dan (Lourdes) Kolva of Springfield, Virginia, Kathy Kirkman of Bowling Green, Ohio and Bryan (Janet) Kirkman of Brookville, Pennsylvania, indentical twin brother George Jr. (Christy) Kolva of Montgomery,Texas and brother Don (Dee Dee) Kolva of Houston, Texas, grandchildren Rob, Zach, Sam, Lucas, Marcos and Hannah and great-grandchildren Nicoletta, Colin, Isaak and Mac. He is also survived by his three daughters-by-love which he considered his own Sandy Naugle, Cindy Winfrey and Vicki Adams, granddaughter-by-love Lucia Hannam and his four legged companions “The Boyz” JR and Rudy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday March 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. Rev. Ernie Unholz will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
Bob’s family would like to thank Dr. Stanek, Dr. Tank and the SICU unit team at Toledo Hospital for the love and care they provided.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Toledo Hospital Foundation, 444 N. Summit St. Suite 100 Toledo, Ohio 43604, in memory of Bob which will go towards the surgical ICU fund.
