Rosemary Koons, 93, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Thursday May 16, 2019. She was born November 17, 1925 in Milton Township, Ohio to John J. Simon and Anna B (Schwab). She married Wallie Koons on April 11, 1953 and he preceded her in death December 30, 2015.
Rosemary was a member of St. Aloysius Church participating in the ministry adoration and enjoyed canning, gardening and playing cards with her grandchildren. She worked at the Wood County Airport where she also took flying lessons. She was an avid baseball fan.
She was retired from the payroll departments of HJ Heinz Company and the Wood County Hospital.
She is survived by her son David Koons of Bowling Green, Ohio as well as her daughters Kathleen (Mark) Melcher and Teresa (Dale) Bechstein, both of Bowling Green, Ohio and daughter-in-law Anita Koons of Tiffin, Ohio. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren and her 5 great-grandchildren. Rosemary was preceded in death by her son, John Koons, brothers, Paul Simon and Edwin Simon, and sisters, Rita DellaFlora and Eleanor Kozey.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday May 21, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 150 S. Enterprise St. Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Father Mark Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green.
Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the church, St. Jude’s or Wood County Humane Society.
