Rosie I. Rife, 87, of Bowling Green, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore. She was born in Rudolph, on March 11, 1937, the daughter of the late Donald and Cartherine (Cupp) Charlton. On June 20, 1955 she married Roy W. Rife who survives in North Baltimore.
Survivors include her daughter, Amy (Tom) Vermylia, her daughter-in-law, Toni Rife, (her son, the late Chris Rife) of Bowling Green, and grandchildren, Emily (Jason) Bomeli, Kelly (Michael) Ernest, and Cody (Chelsea) Rife. Great grandchildren, Harper and Rylin Bomeli, and Dylan and Maisie Ernest, and Sawyer Rife. Her brother, Clifford Charlton, a sister, Joyce Bowers and best friends, Ramona and Ethridge Barnes. Preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Chris Rife, a brother, Jimmy Charlton, and sisters, Virginia Ray, and Gladys Burch.
Rosie was a homemaker that kept a very clean and orderly home. She was an avid garage sale shopper and collector of many trinkets. She was known for her pies, sweet treats, and the one memorable dish at family gatherings. She was always taking care of others needs before her own, and took great pride in her family and grandchildrens success.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11 am at the Wood County Memory Gardens, rural Bowling Green. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice .
