From WOOD COUNTY MUSEUM
The Wood County Museum welcomes Wendy Zielen, a volunteer from the Michigan Flight Museum to be the speaker for the upcoming Tea & Talk Series on March 13, 2 p.m., at the Wood County Museum, 13660 County Home Road, Bowling Green. The March tea is sponsored by The Willows at Bowling Green.
The March tea is titled “Willow Run Rosie’s – A Labor of Love”. How did the mothers, daughters, sisters, and girlfriends of men sent to war during WWII, with little experience, step onto assembly lines and turn the U.S. into the “Arsenal of Democracy”? Discover the extraordinary history of Michigan’s Willow Run B-24 Bomber Plant, the iconic story of Rosie the Riveter, and the powerful impact of women on the American home front in the 1940s.
Presented by “Rosie” in authentic period costume, this program brings out the Can-Do teamwork that shaped America’s wartime success—and continues to inspire young people worldwide today.
Once again, the Museum is partnering with The Summer Kitchen. The featured tea selection is called Lemon Pound Cake, described as a tea with a subtle creaminess bursting with citrus notes and delicate amaretto flavors.
