Ross F. Muir Sr., 93, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away December 23, 2019. He was born July 31, 1926 in Bowling Green to the late Earl “Buck” and Evelyn (Ross) Muir. He married Bernice Siville on June 10, 1948 and she survives in Bowling Green.
Ross served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. He owned and operated Muir’s Bakery for several years and also owned and operated House of Furniture. He was the co-owner of BGECO which sold school equipment, furnishings and teaching supplies.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Bowling Green. He loved to attend horse races and gamble at casinos in Las Vegas and Detroit. He enjoyed bowling and the many conversations he had with people around town, especially at the post office. His greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family. Especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with his wife of 71 years, Bernice, Ross is survived by his children Ross F. Muir Jr. (Kathy), of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Mish A. Muir (Patricia) of Marion, Ohio, Jeffrey S. Muir (Kristy) of Bowling Green, Ohio and Rozalind G. Herzig (Mark) of Perrysburg, Ohio, 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Jack E. Muir and David D. Brott.
Visitation will be held on Sunday December 29, 2019 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. His funeral service will be held on Monday December 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Andrea Curry will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove cemetery in Bowling Green. Additional visitation will be held Monday at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the American Cancer Society or Bridge Hospice in Bowling Green.
