Rudolph man cited for OVI after reportedly hitting pole, rock, and two cars at home on Sand Ridge Road

A Rudolph man was charged with OVI after he reportedly hit an electric pole, decorative rock, and two parked cars as he drove through the lawn of a home in the 400 block of Sand Ridge Road, Sunday (March 30) around 4:30 p.m.

Paul Joseph, 69, was cited for OVI, having a blood alcohol content of 0.173, and failure to control a vehicle. His license was confiscated.

Joseph reportedly told police he had consumed one alcoholic beverage earlier in the day, around noon. However, police reportedly noted Joseph had a strong odor of alcohol, glossy eyes, and inability to stand without swaying.

Police began conducting field tests with Joseph, who reportedly told police he was familiar with the tests. After a couple tests, Joseph reportedly refused to continue the field tests.
