Sammy R Dewyer

Sammy R. Dewyer, 73, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully in his sleep at Bridge Hospice in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Born March 30, 1944 to the late Madeline and Carl Vee Dewyer. On June 19, 1976 he married his best friend and soulmate Sandy, who survives in B.G. He is also survived by sons Jayme (Missey) Dewyer and Jeremy Dewyer, and grandson Killian Dewyer. He is also survived by four siblings, Carl (Marianne) Dewyer, Steve (Sherry) Dewyer, Terry Dewyer and Connie (Jimmy) Holicker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Troy.

An avid outdoorsman, spending summers fishing, and winters hunting and trapping. He loved the sport of bowling and was extremely proud of his 300 game.

Sammy gladly enlisted in the United States Army to serve in Vietnam. Upon returning to Bowling Green, he became a paramedic and fireman with the Bowling Green Fire Department.

Forever making friends, he lived life to the fullest, sharing it with everyone he knew. His infectious smile and laugh will stay in our hearts forever. There was never a dull moment in the backyard with family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 8, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. A Scripture Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
