Scare at BG haunted house leads to customer being banned from site

Employees at the haunted house at Woodland Mall had a scare Sunday evening which ended with an unhappy customer being banned from visiting the site again.

Bowling Green Police arrived at the haunted house around 10:30 p.m., and spoke with a 21-year-old man who was upset that one of the actors took his ball cap off his head – along with some hair.

The man, from Worthington, reportedly ran toward the actor and took back his hat. A code was given over the haunted house radio asking for staff to respond and help to de-escalate the situation. However, the man was reportedly very angry, and more haunted house actors then escorted him from the site.

The man reportedly began threatening staff and standing outside the haunted house yelling to other customers that they should not go inside or they would be assaulted like he was.

The man was told to not return to the haunted house. According to the police report, he was unhappy with that since he felt he had been assaulted by the actor. He asked what avenues he could pursue since he felt wronged. Police advised that he could pursue charges through the city prosecutor’s office.
