Scout came to Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray and is still waiting for a place to call home

Meet Scout, a 1-year-old pittie mix, that came to the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray.

“He is an energetic guy but knows when it is time to calm down. He loves to go for long walks and has been my running buddy a couple of times and does great,” said Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding.

“He has been great with the other dogs at the shelter and hasn’t met a stranger yet. He is still learning some manners and will jump up to greet you, so might knock little ones down,” Harding said.

Scout is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and heartworm negative.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.

The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
