Shooting is second in two months in same downtown parking lot

Bowling Green Police Division is continuing to look for a suspect in the shooting that occurred downtown this weekend.

“It’s still under investigation,” BGPD Lt. Dan Mancuso said this morning.

The shooting took place in the parking lot to the north of Howard’s Club H, in the 200 block of North Main Street.

This is the second time in two months that police have responded to that parking lot after shots were fired. In the Aug. 1 incident, it was determined that multiple individuals fired guns in the parking lot during an altercation. No victim was found.

This weekend, on Saturday, at 11:43 p.m., police responded again for the report of shots fired.

Officers arrived in the area and located Dalin Morris, 21, Toledo, with gunshot wounds to the leg. Morris was transported to St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. He is in stable condition.

The city has several cameras in the downtown area, however, none point directly into that parking lot, Mancuso said.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation processed the crime scene.  Evidence was recovered and will be sent to a lab for further testing.

The Bowling Green Police Division is requesting anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Det. Cox at 419-352-2571. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call the Wood County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-54-CRIME (419-352-0077).

In February of 2020, a man was shot in the abdomen in the 300 block of North Main Street. In that incident, a Fremont man pled guilty to felonious assault after firing several rounds from a vehicle in which he was a passenger. One of the bullets struck a bystander, who had to undergo several emergency surgeries to repair the damage.
