StreetScan to Assess Sidewalk Conditions in Bowling Green Beginning May 6 th
To help improve the conditions of city sidewalks, Bowling Green is partnering with StreetScan, a company that has assessed streets in more than 280 communities in North America.
Beginning May 6, residents may notice a marked “StreetScan” scooter and operator riding along sidewalks throughout the city.
StreetScan employs scooter-mounted sensing technologies to assess the sidewalk conditions. The systems determine the health of each sidewalk and identify defects including tripping hazards and cracking. This data helps the municipality to identify and prioritize repair needs.
