St. Al’s students learn business concepts at ‘Marketplace’

(Submitted by St. Aloysius Catholic School)

Fourth grade students will sell products they created – with proceeds going to charity – at the St. Aloysius School 4th Grade Marketplace on Wednesday, Apr. 18, from 9-11:30 a.m.

This ninth consecutive event uses the classroom’s study of business concepts, including those about producers and consumers, to help raise money for local charities. In the past eight years, almost $10,000 has been donated from 100 percent of its sales; students get to choose the charities their grade supports.

“It’s not only a blessing for students to learn about the creation, marketing and selling of their products to fellow students, but also that their efforts are for a greater cause,” said Heather Radwanski, 4th grade teacher.

Students have spent weeks planning the event and creating their products which will culminate with the sale of various gifts, crafts, snacks and treats to each class (Preschool – Grade 8) at Marketplace.
