The State Fire Marshal’s Office is offering a reward for information on a fire at a Bowling Green car wash on Tuesday.

Andy Ellinger, from the fire marshal’s office, said Wednesday that the blaze appears to have been intentionally set. The public’s help is being sought to help with the arson investigation.

More information on the reward will be forthcoming.

Bowling Green Fire Chief Bill Moorman called in the State Fire Marshal’s Office to investigate the blaze at Super Wash located where North Prospect Street dead ends into East Poe Road.

“It looks very suspicious,” Moorman said.

The fire at the car wash was called in around 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, when a worker was notified by an alarm company of a problem. When the employee opened the front door to the office area, a fire was found.

The office area is located in the center of the business, with car wash bays on either side. The fire did not spread to the bays, Moorman said.
