Troopers from the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on Interstate 75, northbound at milepost 173, south of Bowling Green.
Wednesday around 11 p.m., a Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by Jean Heckert, 43, of Fremont was traveling northbound on I-75. A Chrysler 200, driven by Carol Scott, 30, of Napoleon, was also traveling northbound on I-75.
According to troopers, Scott failed to maintain an assured cleared distance and rear ended Heckert’s vehicle, which traveled off of the left side of the roadway into the median prior to final rest. Scott’s vehicle traveled off of the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
Heckert sustained serious injuries and was transported to Wood County Hospital. Alcohol impairment is believed to be a factor and the crash remains under investigation at this time.
