Daniel Stinehart, 56, of Bowling Green, pleaded not guilty today to inducing panic when he allegedly called in a bomb threat to Bowling Green City Schools on Sept. 10.
A pretrial had been scheduled for Dec. 20, at 11:30 a.m., before Wood County Common Pleas Judge Molly Mack.
The prosecution asked that the judge order Stinehart to not have any contact with Bowling Green City Schools. The defense asked that Stinehart undergo a competency evaluation. Mack agreed to both.
When the threat was received, the district’s school buildings were immediately evacuated. The school district worked closely with Bowling Green Police Division, which secured each of the five school building locations.
Bowling Green Police Division was reportedly able to trace the threatening phone call and voicemail message to Stinehart. Officers located the caller at his residence, and determined there was no credible threat.
